[ Pacchan, thankfully, is quite okay with cats. In fact, when she approaches X'rhun she does so slowly, and tentatively sniffs the red mage's hand. ]
Be nice, Pacchan. This is X'rhun. He's gramps, okay?
[ And then at that, Pacchan pushes her cold, wet nose against X'rhun's hand and then bumps her head into his palm, her own way of asking for pets.
Hana, meanwhile, sneezed into her mask. ]
Hey, close the door behind you? I gotta go die over there.
[ is what she says, though really she's just walking over to a nearby table to grab a tissue and turning away from where X'rhun is so she can pull her mask down and blow her nose. It's all very miserable. ]
[ Cisco steps inside, laughing hard too, shaking his head and pulling the mask off his face so it hangs down around his neck. He had thought he would keep it on, so he wouldn't catch whatever Hana's got, but if she's going to be wearing one, he can take his off for now, and he's much less used to wearing them than she evidently is. ]
Great minds think alike.
[ He shuts the door behind him, heading right towards the kitchen of her place so he can set down his bags. He fishes out the cough drops, first, tossing them over in Hana's direction for her to catch. ]
I'll make the tea. I got that throat coat kind, with the slippery elm bark, works like a fucking charm. You- [ He points at Hana, a smirk curling at one corner of his mouth. ] Gimme the deets on this Jason cat.
[ X’rhun has never seen a shiba in person before— back home, the dogs are native to Hingashi if he recalls correctly— but he’s instantly charmed by the way Pacchan butts up against his hand. He gladly scratches her behind the ears.
Ah, but pets are soon over thanks to Hana’s sneezing, and her remark. ]
You poor dear.
[ He shuts the door as asked and steps further into the house, offering up the bag in his hand. ]
I brought soup. Well, stew, more like. Hopefully it will stave off death for a short while.
[ Without her thinking or meaning to, her arms tightened around him and she turned her head, resting her forehead against his back almost like she was hiding.
It hurt so much, having people say that it was okay for her to simply exist and live her life here, and she didn't know if she could ever explain that. It wasn't any fault of theirs - she certainly didn't resent Shiro for what he'd said - but the fact of the matter was... she didn't want to get away.
Because as much as a part of her felt robbed after being drafted - she was no quitter. She didn't want to run away from what the lot she'd drawn in life. She wanted to face it head-on and win - then she could get away.
...But she couldn't bring herself to say any of that to Shiro. She would rather keep it to herself. Everything was just too raw at the moment. At the very least, she managed this: ]
... Yeah. I guess I'll have to think about it.
I just don't want to disappoint anyone because I'm here and not... doing my duty at home, you know?
In spite of everything, Hana was hoping Shiro wouldn't come after all. She was too sick to be any good company, not to mention super uncute, but in the end she knew he was the kind of person who would try and help a sick friend out...
When she answered the door, Pacchan burst through first, having picked up Shiro's familiar scent from the other side of the door, and she hopped up and pawed at him, wanting pets. Hana was at the door in a baggy sweatshirt, pajama pants, and a mask over her face, and not to mention her hair was just a mess. Super uncute. ]
Hi...
[ Her voice was muffled behind the mask. Maybe he'd just drop the things off then go... ]
[ She nods along; she completely understands that feeling. She'd been working on getting her channel set up and thinking about what sorts of programming she'd want on it - but then memories and everything else happened, too.
Hana leads them to the counter and looks up at the menu. ]
That's fair. But hey, hopefully things slow down now?
[ She glances back at Shigeru. ] The tea here's really good. And do you like sweets? The cakes here are good, too!
[ She catches the bag of cough drops rather expertly and proceeds to open it to pop one into her mouth after she pulls her mask down real quick - and then she sets the bag down on the coffee table and flops onto the couch while Cisco makes his way to the kitchen. Hana's roommates aren't around, but her dog comes trotting in from one of the other rooms after hearing a new person come in! The shiba greets Cisco with an obedient sit at his feet in hopes for some head scratches. ]
You're my hero, Cisco. Forget all those superheroes you know, you're totally the best one.
[ Pacchan follows X'rhun further in, wondering if more pets will be had. Hana makes sure to pull her mask back up before she turns and takes the bag up from him, giving an appreciative little bow as she does so, too. ]
If I weren't sick, I'd totally give you a hug. You're such a lifesaver, gramps.
[ She pads on over to the kitchen area and takes her seat down at the table there, setting the bag down and extricating the container of stew from within. ]
If it's all the same, I'd rather not catch whatever death plague you have. I'll write you an IOU for the hug.
[ He wanders into the kitchen area, and as Hana busies herself with the stew, he crouches to give Pacchan more pets. His own tail seems to wave in amusement as the dog's tail wags happily. ]
There's a little restaurant near the communal housing that I've become fond of. Family owned, I believe. Their food reminds me of home.
[ She flashes him a victory sign with her fingers as she pulls the spoon out from the bag, opens the container and starts stirring the stew to help cool it. ]
Don't worry, I'm making extra sure you don't catch this!
[ ... she probably has to pull her mask down so she can actually eat this stew, so she does that as she casts a quick glance over to X'rhun and Pacchan to make sure her dog isn't being a bother. When she sees their tails wagging almost in sync, she stifles a laugh. ]
Oh my god. Your tails are moving together! How cute!
[ Forget this soup, Hana immediately pulls her phone out to take a little video. ]
[ He can practically hear her take out her phone just by the tone of her voice. His ears swivel pointedly in her direction, though his eyes don't leave the dog. Neither does his tail stop wagging. ]
There had best not be a camera pointed at me, Hana Song.
[ Cisco laughs when Hana says he is her hero, grabbing the kettle and taking it to the sink to fill up. He gasps with delight when the dog comes to keep him company, contenting himself with making cute faces at the animal until the kettle's on and his hands are free. Then he crouches down, giving the pup a very thorough head scratching. ]
Yep, that's me. Total superhero. They call me... the Teamaker.
[ Cisco remembers his past conversation with Hana about relationships, where she said that she is mostly keeping things casual at the moment, that she's not really looking to date anybody in an exclusive, long-term, super emotional or intimate way. And Cisco respects that, so he tailors his questions (and light teasing) to make sure that she doesn't feel judged for that, and that he doesn't ask anything that it's likely she won't know. ]
Oh, all the salacious gossip, you know, how'd you meet, is he from your time, is he from Earth, is he a human, does he have superpowers or magic or anything like that... I could go on.
[ That's probably enough for her to answer for the time being. ]
[Ah ha... now he was starting to understand. It wasn't so much the fact that she had been drafted though that was part of it. The real issue here was the fact that she was here and not at home doing her job, whether it had been voluntary for her to do it or if it had been handed to her]
Yeah, I guess I understand that. I'm here away from Voltron and now Black is missing as well. Sometimes you wonder how things are going with you being there.
That's what you are worried about? Not being there to help them?
[Honestly, Shiro wasn't expecting someone who was sick to look cute and certainly didn't think she'd feel up to trying. But if she needed some things, he was going to make sure that she got them.
When the door opened, Pacchan came dashing out first and Shiro crouched to pet the excited dog]
Have you been taking care of Hana?
[He asked the dog before looking back up at her and standing]
Hi. Here's the tea and the soup. Do you need me to make anything for you? Just so you can put your feet back up and rest.
i ran into a bunch of humans carolling and they think im one of them im about to get drunk in an elf costume and bust down someone's door singing christmas songs
[ Cisco is going to ignore any and all baseless accusations about his manners or lack thereof, thanks very much. ]
take a video it'll last longer and u should definitely con one of the drunk ones into thinking you've been friends for ages and they've just forgotten your name or whatever
