Her first instinct, of course, is to assume that a certain someone else is responsible for that. And given Hana's quickness with tech, her response sends in the middle of Shiro's internal conflict and typing his follow-up message— ]

[ ... the pause actually resulted from the fact that Hana choked on her drink as she typed that "oh."

But in any case— just the two of them to a formal party... definitely sounds like a date. Right?

[He was initially confused when she said "hi black" with a smiley face after his random gibberish text. Had she thought Black was trying to text her? Darn if he had given it a few more seconds before responding he might have been able to use that excuse. Yes, Black clearly sent you that gibberish text and not Shiro.

When the second text came back with "oh"... and nothing else. What did "oh" mean? While he stared at the phone, waiting for a response, Black came wandering over, leaning in over him as though trying to read his phone.

Then the last set came in and he did smile at that. She said yes to going with him... and just him. Black kind of give him a hard nudge on the shoulder before walking away]
